This week was a nice break from the normal assignments after taking my time for reflection and meeting with my site supervisor on last week's assignment. I was able to see that my action research plan looks nice on paper but actual changes need to be made in order to raise morale, otherwise this could have a negative effect on student success. Sometimes the campus needs come first. I'm not saying that my principal does not care about teacher morale, but when change is needed, she hopes that teachers will step up as professionals not taking it personal. Mrs. Williams put it best, "No matter what changes you make, you will always have those that will find something negative about it."
Stepping into the role of a future leader is not as easy as some administrators make it look. There are multiple details that when added up can drive the attitudes and environment of the campus. Normally as educators we do not see nor understand the scope of every concern. These details no matter how trivial they may appear, must be taken care of by the campus leadership team.
